Technical Application Manager Interconnects
Introduction
As a Technical Application Manager Interconnects you design, develop and maintain critical applications and processes that support cross-border electricity exchange, contributing to the stability, security and performance of international energy processes.
Responsibilities
- Design & development: Build robust cross-border processes using Ansible with attention to performance, reliability, security, observability and scalability.
- Deployment & operations: Containerize and deploy workloads to Kubernetes clusters; apply best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, certificate management and fault tolerance.
- Testing: Implement unit, integration and system testing to ensure quality and stability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in test and production environments with root-cause analysis and sustainable fixes.
- Continuous improvement: Improve codebases, deployment pipelines and engineering practices; participate in design discussions, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- On-call: Participate in standby/on-call rotations for mission-critical systems (approximately once every two months).
- Collaboration: Work in an agile, DevOps-oriented environment with engineers, operations teams and international stakeholders.
Required experience & technical skills
- Experience with Ansible and Python
- Experience with SQL databases (preferably Oracle RDBMS)
- Experience with or willingness to learn GitLab, VMware and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices (e.g., GitOps, observability, Elastic/ECK, auto-scaling)
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and in cross-functional teams
- Strong sense of ownership across the application lifecycle

- Ability to work in a complex, international enterprise environment
- Languages: Fluency in English (Dutch is a big plus)
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics)
Practical information
- Location: Arnhem (2–3 days per week on-site)
- Working hours: 32 to 40 hours per week
- On-call/standby duty: Approximately once every two months
- Screening: Certificate of Conduct (VOG), UVO screening and a Pre-Employment Screening (PES) are required; a valid ID must be presented during intake and at the start of the assignment.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics)
- Fluency in English
- Location: Arnhem (2–3 days per week on-site)
- On-call/standby duty: approximately once every two months
- Candidates must be available for the full duration of the assignment
- Valid ID (passport or identity card) must be presented during intake and at the start of the assignment
Wensen
- Ervaring met SQL databases (bij voorkeur Oracle RDBMS)
- Ervaring met of bereidheid om te leren GitLab, VMware, en Kubernetes
