Senior Lead Engineer – Innovation
Role summary
Drive innovation by designing, building and validating AI applications within a regulated banking environment. Collaborate with developers, data scientists and business stakeholders to operationalise AI models, ensure compliance with standards, and translate technical and business challenges into fully functional solutions. Support feasibility assessment, API design, orchestration patterns, development monitoring and iterative delivery. Help build the GenAI stack and shape how colleagues use AI responsibly and effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate integration of GenAI components into existing data infrastructure and enterprise systems
- Own end-to-end integration outcomes across teams
- Align priorities, timelines and deliverables between teams and stakeholders
- Translate business goals into actionable technical direction
- Define and validate integration architecture (APIs, data contracts, orchestration patterns)
- Contribute to technical vision and knowledge sharing within the team
Required qualifications and experience
- 7+ years in technical roles (software engineering, data engineering, ML/AI, or architecture), with at least 2–3 years in a lead or coordinating role
- Strong understanding of system integration patterns (APIs, event-driven architecture, data pipelines) and enterprise architecture principles
- Experience with GenAI/LLM-based solutions, including prompt engineering, evaluation strategies and deployment considerations
- Ability to define and review architecture, data contracts and interface specifications across teams
- Proven experience working across multiple teams or departments, aligning technical efforts and driving delivery without direct authority
- Experience facilitating technical discussions and workshops with engineers and business stakeholders
- Languages: English and Dutch mandatory
- Comfort with ambiguity, iterative problem-solving and changing priorities
- To be considered you must be located in the Netherlands
Valuable additions
- Track record working directly with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions
- Background in financial services or other regulated industries
- Relevant degree is helpful, but demonstrated ability building and shipping AI solutions is prioritised

Eisen
- Language: English and dutch mandatory
- 7+ years of experience in technical roles (software engineering, data engineering, ML/AI, or architecture), with at least 2–3 years in a lead or coordinating role

- Proven experience working across multiple teams or departments, aligning technical efforts and driving delivery without direct authority
- Experience facilitating technical discussions and workshops with both engineers and business stakeholders (e.g. prompt workshops, solution design sessions)
- Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
