Role summary
As an Accounts Payable Accountant you are responsible for the accounts payable function and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. You will ensure accurate and timely financial administration, support internal control activities and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors as required.
Key responsibilities
- Register and process incoming accounts payable invoices
- Ensure accurate and timely booking of invoices in SAP
- Manage contractor hours charged to the organisation
- Support Direct Payment (ESA) administration in coordination with accounts receivable activities
- Monitor outstanding items and follow up on overdue balances
- Prepare weekly overviews of blocked items for booking
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities
- Support internal control processes and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors where required
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or Financial Accounting
- Experience with SAP (required)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of internal controls and financial processes
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage deadlines and stress
- Intermediate English (spoken and written)
